The Kapatid Program
The Pilipino Student Association at Ohio State strives to foster a community within its general body. One way we do this is through our Kapatid Program!
What is it?
The Kapatid Program is a way for older students to provide mentorship to younger students, and for younger members to receive guidance and create relationships with older members. Each new member (called an ading, younger sibling) of the program is paired with an ate (older sister), kuya (older brother), or kapatid (older sibling).
What do we do?
Each kapatid pair is housed within one of our three PSA families: Mabuti Tubig, Chicken Nut Bread, and Legacy. Throughout the year, families organize bonding events and engage in friendly competition to earn the most fam points. The winning Fam of the Year wins a PSA-funded meal!
Meet Our Fams
Our three families are so excited to meet their new members and can't wait to get back to Kapatid programming this fall!
How do I join?
At the start of each semester, we hold events for new members to get to know members of the Kapatid Program and see which families and people they mesh with best. We send out a form for new members to tell us which families they want to be part of, and our Kapatid Director assigns Kapatid pairings based on these results. If interested in joining, make sure to keep an eye out on our social media and Discord for updates on our next Kapatid events!
If you have any questions, reach out to this year's Kapatid Chair, Corina Clagg, at clagg.29@osu.edu.
